What happens on the first visit?
We spend about an hour with you in the room itself. We measure it properly, check where the services already run, and ask how you actually use the space — where you prep, what never gets reached, what annoys you every morning. That last part matters more than the finishes, because a layout that suits how you cook is the thing you notice for the next twenty years. Before we leave we give you a realistic budget range for what you have described, and if what you want costs more than you want to spend we say so then rather than three weeks later. There is no charge and nothing to sign. If you decide to go ahead, the next step is design, and only after you have approved drawings and a material list do we put a fixed written number in front of you.
What should you have ready?
Nothing formal. It helps if you know roughly what you would like to spend, even as a wide band, because it changes what we suggest. Photographs of kitchens you like are useful, and so are photographs of ones you dislike. If you have the original house plans, bring them out — they tell us where the structure and the drains are before we open anything. If more than one person will be deciding, it saves everyone time if both are there for the first visit.
