It depends on whether the layout is the problem. If the room works and it simply looks tired, replacing cabinetry and counters in the existing footprint is the efficient answer: no permit, no structural work, and the shortest time without a usable kitchen. If you find yourself walking around an obstacle every time you cook, or two people cannot pass each other, then the layout is the problem and new cabinetry in the same positions will not fix it. That is when a wall or an appliance position has to move, which brings in engineering, permits and inspections. Spend a week noticing what you actually do in the room, then tell us which of the two problems you have.
How the three fit together
They are different amounts of the same job rather than three separate products. Cabinets and counters are the core of every project, so that service is the smallest complete piece of work we do. A full remodel is that plus demolition, services, flooring, lighting and appliances, coordinated as one build. A layout conversion is a full remodel with structural work in front of it. Most enquiries start in one of the three and settle in another once we have seen the room, and the quote follows the work rather than the label.
